What is the New Age? That is the first question asked of
anyone.
It is
very difficult to bring together a precise definition of what the
New Age is, however it is not new, it is as old as sin itself.
Gen 3:1 -6
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field
which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea,
hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of
the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is
in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of
it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent
said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know
that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,
and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the
woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one
wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also
unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Like
the promise of the serpent, the New Age teaches that:
1.
God's Word cannot be trusted entirely
2.
Man does not have to die
3.
Man can become a god (see Kenneth Copeland's
page on our website)
4.
Man can evolve through hidden knowledge
This in contradiction to the Word
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our
glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they
known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Roots
of the New Age can be found in several major religious groups:
1.
Witchcraft and Shamanism (prehistoric)
2.
Astrology (c.2000 b.c.)
3.
Hinduism and Yoga (c. 1800 b.c.)
Where
can we find the recent doctrinal ancestors of the New Age movement?
1.
Swedenborgianism (c.1792)
a) communication with the dead
b) spiritual evolution
2.
Mormonism (c. 1830)
view
The God Makers for more information
a) man can become a god
b) preexistence
c) salvation through secret knowledge
d) confusion between matter and spirit
3.
Spiritualism
see the translators
page for more information
a) belief in communication with the dead
b) cultivation of mediumistic powers (channeling)
c) reincarnation
4.
Christian Science and the Mind Science Cults (c. 1862)
a) God is a force, not a person
b) mind can control matter; reality is what you make of it
c) sin does not exist, nor does death
5.
The Theosophical Society and Lucis Trust
a) Christianity considered as deevolutionary
b) belief in Ascended Masters who guide the earth
c) "root races" and an evolutionary "Plan" for mankind
d) "spiritual racism" and anti-Semitism
What
are some New Age Definitions to know?
1.
God: No personal God at all; just a cosmic force, a fragment of
which is in us; therefore we are gods. There is often a male/female
polarity in this "force" (yin/yang).
2.
Jesus: A man who evolved into an Ascended Master (god-like being)
through occult and metaphysical disciplines.
3.
Christ: An impersonal "force" that rested on the man Jesus and made
him special, but which has also rested on others, and can even rest
on us.
4.
The Bible: At best a work of cabalistic secrets that can only be
understood by "Masters." At worst a stupid book of Jewish legends.
5.
Salvation: By works of occult discipline. The law of karma is
irresistible and is what judges us.
6.
Denial of Death: Belief in reincarnation. Most New Agers believe
that humans can evolve into gods through many lifetimes.
7.
Magical Worldview: View of universe as a machine that can be
manipulated through sophisticated mental and spiritual
technology---no sovereign God.
8.
Intolerance of Monotheism: Jews, Christians, and Muslims are
regarded as counterrevolutionary. They must either evolve or be
purified.
Satan has tried his
best to mimic God's plan. But it is still false even if it looks
right.
The "New
Age" (or Self-Help) Movement, is a broad-based amalgam of spiritual,
social, and political elements with the common aim of transforming
individuals and society through a diverse and non-biblical spiritual
awareness. The New Age is a utopian vision, an era of harmony and
progress with mother earth and nature. Comprising individuals,
activist groups, businesses, professional groups, and spiritual
leaders and followers, the movement brought feminist, ecological,
spiritual, and human-potential concerns into the mainstream in the
1980s, creating a large market in the United States and other
countries for books, magazines, audio and videotapes, workshops,
retreats, and expositions on the subject, as well as for natural
foods, crystals, and meditation and healing aids.
Often
seen as resurgent paganism or Gnosticism, the modern movement has
more recent roots in 19th-century spiritualism and in the 1960s
counter culture, which rejected materialism in favor of Eastern
mysticism and preferred direct spiritual experience to organized
religion. Techniques for self-improvement and the idea that the
individual is responsible for and capable of everything from
self-healing to creating the world, have found applications in
health care and counseling as well as in sports, the armed forces,
and corporations and have provoked debate in religious and other
circles.
Holistic
thinking has influenced attitudes about medicine, the environment,
the family, work, regional planning, and world peace, among others.
Ideas frequently associated with the New Age movement include
anthropomorphical teachings, inner transformation, reincarnation,
extraterrestrial life, biofeedback, chanting, alchemy, yoga,
transpersonal psychology, shamanism, martial arts, the occult,
astrology, psychic healing, extrasensory perception, divination,
astral travel, acupuncture, massage, tarot, Zen, mythology, and
visualization.
It is
therefore important that we note the History behind these diverse
uprisings which are beginning to resurface on American soil. Because
this Land allows freedom of religion, cults, Satanists, pagans, and
other diverse movements have a free walk, a free speech and free
growth in our society. Is this morally right? Not if your a follower
of Christ. All these diverse practices are rooted in ancient
practices which clearly defy the instruction of the written word of
God (as defined in the OT Torah, and the NT Gospel and Epistles).
Many of these followings are rooted in ancient Satanic ritualism.
Sacrifices (animal, and in some deeper occultic channels "human
sacrifice"), blood letting, dancing across or around the fire,
lighting candles or incense in observance of the various Gods or
spirits of the earth, emulations, sorcery, witchcraft and the like,
are all defined in the word of God as "of the devil". Whether the
followers of these groups proclaim they follow Satan or not, the
word of God proclaims, if they image the any of the above practices,
they indeed do follow him. Many who follow these groups may or may
not understand or perceive their following as rebellion to God. But
the Word of God clearly states the following:
|
"He that is not
with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me
scattereth abroad." -Matthew 12:30 |
"He that is not
with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me
scattereth." -Luke 11:23 |
Make
your own conclusion, for that passage is quoted by Jesus himself. In
these studies we shall observe the roots of these practices, all in
an attempt to open our eyes to the light of Christ. Only then can we
judge for ourselves whether these practices are of God, his will,
his word, or of Satan, and the Carnal will of man. Satan is
described as "the father of all lies and deception" in the Holy
Bible. History has shown Satan to Mimic God, in an attempt to make
himself a God to be worshiped through unknowing practices.
"The New Age Movement, the Humanist Religion, and the
Communists have made a god out of man; they have deified
mankind. The new morality for a man-god is whatever he
decides it is, and that is what the New
Age-Humanists-Communists have done. Their new morality is
called Situation Ethics."

False Teaching of Theophostics is New Age
A
huge deception the New Age Movement has caused is the false teaching
of
Theophostics.
There are some links below that can help you to understand why this
is a false teaching and a death blow to the Body of Christ. There
are many following this doctrine of demons and are being led astray
and others that still might fall away because of this lie.
Children's Shows Receive a New Age and Occult Make Over
Violent programs on television
lead to aggressive behavior by children and teenagers who watch
those programs.
That's the
word from a 1982 report by the National Institute of Mental Health,
a report that confirmed and extended an earlier study done by the
Surgeon General. As a result of these and other research findings,
the American Psychological Association passed a resolution in
February 1985 informing broadcasters and the public of the potential
dangers that viewing violence on television can have for children.
| 'Children who watch the
violent shows, even 'just funny' cartoons, were more
likely to hit out at their playmates, argue, disobey
class rules, leave tasks unfinished, and were less
willing to wait for things than those who watched the
nonviolent programs,' says Aletha Huston, Ph.D., now at
the University of Kansas. |
Public Schools Promote New Age

Even more sinister is the diabolic

New Age in Public Schools ::
By
Craig Branch
Many parents and Christians are unaware of the steady flood of
New Age /
occult
curriculum in our public schools.
Watchman Fellowship has been
attempting to respond effectively to numerous incidents in Alabama
and other parts of the country. The fact is that there is a growing
constituency of professional educators who are either personally
involved in the New Age Movement or are being influenced by those
who are.
Their goal is to transform our educational system by the
implementation of eastern mystical presuppositions, techniques, and
practices into the curriculum of our schools.
Common
terms used to identify these beliefs and practices are "transpersonal
education" or "integrative education."
A very
helpful source of information is the text book The Aquarian
Conspiracy by New Age leader and sociologist Marilyn Ferguson.
The book outlines the overall goals, objectives and
proponents of the New Age movement.
Concerning education she writes, "Of the Aquarian
Conspirators surveyed, more were involved in education than any
other single category of work."
"They
were teachers, administrators, policymakers,
educational psychologists. They are heroes in
education trying to transcend the limits of old
structure; but their efforts are too often thwarted by peers,
administrators, and parents.
"Mario
Fantini, former Ford consultant on education, now at State
University of New York, said bluntly, `The psychology of becoming
has to be smuggled into the schools'" (pp. 280-281).
These
"heroes" believe that each child innately possesses all knowledge,
wisdom, creativity, power, and perfection within himself, in his
"intuitive" or "higher self."
These
are eastern mystical religious beliefs and the techniques
utilized to achieve or "realize" this potential are
identically the same as many eastern practices to achieve "enlightenment."
Ferguson goes on to state, "The deliberate use of consciousness
expanding techniques in education, only recently well underway, is
new in mass schooling.
Altered states of consciousness
are taken seriously: `centering' exercises,
meditation,
relaxation, and fantasy are used to keep the intuitive pathways open
and whole brain learning. There are techniques to encourage body
awareness: breathing, relaxation,
yoga,
movement, biofeedback," (The Aquarian Conspiracy, pp.
295, 315).
These
curriculums have been introduced through health
programs, counseling modules, literature
and creative writing courses, stress
reduction programs, self-esteem modules and
gifted children's programs.
The
pattern is basically the same.
The students - kindergarten through college - are introduced
to what are called progressive relaxation
techniques, which are exactly the same procedures of
hypnosis
and meditation.
The techniques include alternate muscle
tension-relaxing, deep diaphragm breathing, alternate nostril
breathing,
guided imagery
and
visualization
exercises, autogenics (repeating a mantra or repeating "My body is
getting heavier") and maintaining a passive mental state.
In one
module we challenged called "Peace, Harmony, and Awareness," part of
the A.P.P.L.E. program, the child having been taught how to put
himself into this altered state of consciousness, was introduced to
a white rabbit in his "secret place," using guided imagery
(post-hypnotic suggestion).
The
child could then ask the rabbit (spirit guide or higher self) any
question and the answer or solution would come. These approaches in
education are appalling. They are illegal, unethical, and are
without scientific validity. The approach is a violation of the
establishment clause of the First Amendment. It is unethical in
that the real nature is obscured or hidden behind secular jargon and
nomenclature.
If
parents realized that their children were being exposed to trance
induction techniques (hypnosis, meditation) they would vigorously
protest and withdraw their children.
It is up
to Christians to be very much
involved with their child's
education.
Ask your
children about what they are doing in school. Ask them about
relaxation techniques, centering and visualization exercises.

We also came
across some seminar notes from a New Age organization that was given
at the Boston House of Theosophy. It is a revealing document about
how the New Agers have really infiltrated every aspect of the way of
life. After reading these notes, it is plain to see that the very
people pushing for this to happen is the head of this Luciferian
Doctrine - the freemasons.
